Adore - Be Silent - Rejoice
Welcome

Fr. Joseph O'Reilly, Provincial 2003-9

Welcome to the website of the Irish Province of the Rosminians (Institute of Charity).  I hope that you will find this site helpful and informative.  These past few years have been historical ones for Rosminians everywhere, and for our families and friends.  Our Founder, Antonio Rosmini, was a great spiritual, philosophical and political thinker in Italy in the 1800's, but before his death he had fallen from favour and his writings and person were treated with great suspicion for many years.  However in the course of recent decades his writings were again examined and declared to be free from any error and after the long wait Antonio Rosmini was Beatified in the northern Italian City of Novara on November 18 2007.  Jesus Christ be Praised.

For Irish Rosminians too the past year has brought about more change.  At our General Chapter in October 2008 it was decided to re-structure our provinces and so from September 2009 we will be part of the Gentili Province along with our brethren from England/Wales, the USA and New Zealand.  The first Provincial Superior of the Gentili Province will be Fr. David Myers. Fr. Myers was born in Dublin in 1941.  His family moved to England and he was educated by the Rosminians there.  He has spent most of his priestly life working in school and parish ministry.
